Nutrition Is Key

You may have heard the sayings “abs are made in the kitchen” or “you can’t out train a bad diet”.

Nutrition is the key most important factor when it comes to changing your body composition. Whether it be to add muscle mass, drop fat levels or to create a leaner physique- good nutrition is essential.

No matter how hard you may train in the gym, you can replace the calories you have burnt of a lot quicker than it takes you to lose them. Having the correct energy balance of calories is key to achieving results. If your looking to increase size, you need to be in a calorie surplus (eating more than you burn) and if you want to decrease size you have to be eating in a deficit (eating less than you burn).

Now, we understand this can be hard to grasp for anyone who isn't in the fitness industry. That is why we created nutritional support meetings for our members at JWC.

When you have your nutritional meeting with a JWC coach this is the first thing we will work out for you - your correct calorie target per day. If you want to be one step ahead before this meeting you can use our online calorie calculator which you can find on our website and we can then work this out beforehand.

That’s stage one then complete; then you will be educated on macro-nutrients. Carbohydrates, proteins and fats. The amount you have in your diet depends on your current physique and your desired physique. Your JWC coach will sit down and work this out for you and explain why you require each amount.

You will be given an app to download, that you will then input all your food and drink into. This will be your food tracker that you should use every day until your next meeting with a coach.

You will then continue to meet the coach and they will review your food tracker and see if everything is balancing correctly. Whatever the outcome the coach will ensure you are educated and on track to hit these targets of calories and macros they have given you.
